Self-sufficiency among refugees

Uganda is home to over 1.5million refugees, whereas many arrive under difficult circumstances, many have gone ahead to settle in and establish their livelihood through different projects.

Ahead of the World Refugee Day, Business in 15 speaks to Derrick Kyambadde the Supervisor Social Projects at Equity Bank Uganda Limited about the impact they have created through supporting refugees access financial inclusion and empower themselves.

 The project that seeks to create self-sufficiency and increase economic stability in refugee settlements has so far benefited 350,000 refugees in 9 refugee settlements across the country.
